The Woman I Love: Power Outage

The Woman I Love: Power Outage

I had a wonderful morning.  My wife and I woke up to the sound of our house losing power (the security system make a wretched noise when the power goes on or off).  It was 60 degrees in our bedroom.  The sunlight sparkled off the pond in the back of our house.  Neither of us had anything scheduled.  There was nothing coaxing us to unwrap ourselves from the comforter and to get out of our pajamas (I love this word for the record).  We spent a little time just talking and laughing.  The baby boy in her belly had the hiccups.  It was a little taste of bliss.

Without power there were no emails to check, no news to watch, no coffee to brew.  There was just what was before me.  My beautiful, pregnant wife.  I think most of the time I would consider losing power a real inconvenience because most everything I have to accomplish requires a power source.  Today, it was a blessing.  A wonderful reason to stop, breathe, and enjoy the incredible life that God has give to me.
