Turn on your television set and watch a view commercial advertisements. See if you pick up on the theme that I did: choose to do whatever you want and our product will keep you from suffering the consequences that will typically happen from making such choices. From diet pills to to pills that relieve hang overs to birth control and contraceptives to debt relief, we have products and services that sell themselves on the premise that I can do what I want and not have to endure the outcome of my behavior. We are doing a great disservice to not only ourselves, but our children and grand children. We are robbing from generations not yet born and destroying the bodies whose care will rest in their hands. By refusing to deal with the outcomes now we are creating catastrophe for the future. The Bible has made it clear, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). We need to understand that there is a natural order to the created world and a reason that God created things the way that He did. Much of it was to give us a physical pattern for spiritual things (cp. Romans 1:20). It is a fruitless venture to try and upset this order.
In the end each person has their own choice and I am okay with each person choosing whatever path they see fit, but I do believe that we should not try to relieve them of the consequences of those choices nor turn it into someone else's problem. We must understand that freedom and responsibility do not run counter to one another, but are one inseparably linked.
